I have been on the hunt for the perfect jeans. Here’s a look into my favorite pairs and how they compare to others in a different price range.

If you are anything like me, having a good pair of jeans in your closet is not something you have always had. There are days I go in my closet and look through hundreds of pieces of clothing, but still nothing to wear. I find that I am usually missing good basics, or something I like to refer to as “reliable clothing.”

Last year, in the midsts of my health journey, I felt like I had built my closet a little more responsibly. I was down in measurements, felt great, and had clothes that made me feeling amazing! However, now just a year later, I am 17 weeks postpartum and don’t fit in my size 2 jeans. So, I am back to the drawing board regarding my jeans.

My new family and I have been doing loads of traveling recently, I’m up to 31 states, so I am really feeling the burn of “having nothing to wear.”

I have scoured the stores in person, and the depths of the internet high and low, to find the perfect non-skinny-jean-jeans, and I bring to you, my top five favorite pairs of jeans!

(Let me know and I can totally tell what jeans you should be avoiding.)

Ready? Let’s go!

The 5 pairs of jeans you should own.

1. Citizen of Humanity- Libby Jeans

I’m gonna start out with my favorite pair, the COH Libby Jeans. If I am being totally transparent, I ordered these jeans when having virtually zero pairs of jeans that fit, and decided to give them a go since.. well.. they were called the “Libby” jeans, and that’s my name. Oh boy, and I’m glad I did! These jeans fit me like a glove.

They are at a higher price point, costing $248, but you can typically find them on sale. In my personal opinion, they are worth every dime on sale, or not. The quality is there, and I love the classic 90s style. After many wears and washes, they are not stretched out and already come with the “worn” look. I have realized recently, especially with jeans, you really are getting what you pay for.

2. Joe's Jeans- The Ellison Jeans

Second on the list, I bring you Joe’s Jeans Ellison Jeans. I purchased these jeans after having them in my rent the runway bag one month. After putting them on for the first time, I knew I was in-love. These are a must-have but aren’t the classic jean you can wear everyday.

These are also on the pricier side, costing $198. They are very good quality, but the price may something to take into consideration considering they aren’t jeans you could re-wear everyday without someone noticing.

3. Abercrombie- Ultra High Rise 90s Straight Jean

Next I bring you, Abercrombie Ultra High Rise 90s Straight Jeans! These jeans are priced slightly lower, at $90. When looking for a great pair of jeans, you might not want to spend $200, and that’s totally understandable, because you don’t have to. These jeans are very classic, and can be styled so many different ways.

There are several things I love about these jeans. Price being a great one, because you can sometimes find A&F jeans on sale. Another thing is that they come in so many different washes! There are currently 29 washes to choose from. I have the “medium” wash. These jeans also come in four different lengths; extra short, short, regular, and long. Lastly, I love that these can be worn so frequently because there is nothing that makes them stand out or obvious that you probably wore them yesterday.

4. Zara- TFR High Rise Stove Pipe Jeans

I think in this blog post I have already named another pair as my favorite, but I retract that statement to say these Zara High-Rise Stove Pipe Jeans are my absolute favorite. They come in a little lower price-wise at $46, but the quality is still high. The style and look of this denim has no competitor.

A great thing about the price is that you can wear them anywhere to any event and not get too upset if something happens to them. They also come in five colors, so if the color I have linked isn’t your favorite, shop around and see if there is one that better suits you! I would recommend sizing up if ordering online, and can’t try them on before purchasing.

5. Universal Thread- High-Rise Wide Leg Jeans

Last, we have the Target Universal Thread High-rise Wide leg jeans. These were purchased one day when I was walking around target and I noticed them. They look almost exactly the same as the Joe’s Jeans Ellison Jeans I rented on RTR! I was so shocked to see practically the same $200 jeans in Target for less than $40. I had to try them on. The verdict? OBSESSED. When the size 6 fit me like a glove, they were mine right that very minute.

What I love about these jeans are obviously the high designer look, but with the not-so-high price tag. I love wearing these when I want to reach for The Ellison Jeans, but may be going somewhere not so nice, or somewhere where they have a good chance of getting dirty. I love bringing these with me on trips. With all of that being said, they aren’t the highest quality, but still have so much style and comfort. These are totally worth checking out.

Jeans Review: The Bottom Line

I LOVE THESE JEANS! I currently work from home on maternity leave, but I also travel for 2 weeks, every other 2 weeks, so I always want to have something to wear. I wear one pairs of these jeans almost every day. There is just something so pleasing about reaching in your closet and putting on something reliable that you feel so confident and put together in!
